This webinar discusses time-sensitive networking (TSN) for aerospace applications. Topics include motivation for TSN-based aerospace onboard networks, industry use cases, and TSN profile(s) being developed by the joint IEEE and SAE working group to address the unique aerospace requirements. TSN provides an open standard-based deterministic Ethernet solution for aerospace applications at a time when the industry is looking to evolve from legacy databuses. The webinar discusses how the current IEEE P802.1DP/SAE AS6675 draft addresses the aerospace requirements using the TSN toolset. Lastly, the potential impact of TSN on aerospace network architectures and the aircraft size, weight, and power (SWaP) are discussed.
